I purchased Sonic Death Monkey because I loved the name and anything that is chocolate. I still like the name, but I'm not so much on the smell. You can smell the chocolate, but you have to know that you are supposed to be smelling something chocolatey. It actually smelled like hemp to me. Other people that smelled it thought it smelled like the chocolate oranges that you smack on a table and the segments break apart.
I think this product is a lot like most other LUSH products. Nothing I've purchased from them really smells like the description. Most of the time I still really like the item. In this case, I did not care for the smell. As far as washing, I think it did a great job. It didn't dry my skin out at all.

After a long day of hunching over my computer at work for 8+ hours and a brutal workout after, I came home tonight and enjoyed the best shower experience I have ever had by myself with a bath bar! :)
The cooling sensation of the wiccy magic muscles bar, the cool air in the bathroom, mixed with the warm water of the shower made for a incredibly relaxing, blissful, enjoyable shower.
I feel great! I'll sleep great tonight! This experience has made me a LUSH customer for life!

After introducing this massage bar to my husband he rather enjoyed a massage. The massage bar can be used from the top of your head to your toes and he noticed that I didn't need to apply oils constantly. This bar allows you to relax with someone you love and is very comforting. As a massage product, it is very easy to use and even when it breaks into smaller pieces at the end, you can use the smaller pieces very efficiently.
The Lush massage bars melt over your skin and release exotic scents reminiscent of summer nights and flickering candles. If you are using this massage bar by yourself or with someone you love, climb into bed after a warm bath and you can use this like you would body lotion, except it is easy to apply from head to foot and you get the added benefit of massage.
This is much more sensuous than a massage oil. The way it slides over your skin like cocoa butter and the way it melts in your hand very slowly, but just enough, makes this a high priority on my shopping list.
Delicious after a bath with a Sex Bomb bath ballistic. You may also fall in love with the American Cream hair conditioner and the Rehab shampoo.

Now let's get its effectiveness out of the way so we can talk about that love it or hate it scent! It is a really thick conditioner and works great every other day or every few days. I have really long hair and this tames it and smoothes my split ends, and it leaves my hair shiny. It isn't greasy at all.
If you are used to drugstore or salon conditioners, don't judge the effectiveness of any natural conditioner for a month. That is how long it can take for the silicones in mainstream conditioners to leave your hair (silicones are all those things in conditioner that end in "cone", like dimethicone, etc). Detoxing your hair off silicones is well worth it though, my hair is much healthier and shinier without that buildup.
So the scent: It is green, kind of melon and fresh, with a hint of violet (like Bathos, Gratuitous Violets, and Daddyo) to it. It took some getting used to, and when I first got it I thought it smelled of green beans or some vegetable-like smell. But when you use it and rinse it out, you are left with a rich green scent, with the tiniest hint of gently floral violet.
It isn't for everybody, but if you buy it, give it a chance to work its magic in your hair before you make your judgement, because that lovely violetty smell combined with how well it works makes it kind of addictive. I use it with Daddyo shampoo to enhance that hint of violet and the fresh green scent I get from it. I use it in rotation with American Cream which is a bit lighter.

I am a true believer in the Bath as Therapy! So, of course I wanted to check this stuff out, and let me just say.........Honeeee, Those that haven't should!!! Waving not Drowning is NO joke, you are instantly RELAAAAAXXED............
Smells very nice, not overpowering and you can indeed doze off, so be careful ;0) Oh, and the Big Shampoo, is a keeper too!Girls, as I type this review I am enjoying my all over fragrance, literally from Head To Toes! Feelin' Da'Sexy!

My skin manages to be both acne-prone (I'm over 30) and hyper-sensitive. Most oily-skin or acne oriented products make my skin red and irritated, but sensitive-skin creamy stuff is too greasy. This cleanser is perfect for me. Feels incredibly gentle, but gets my face very clean. Afterwards my skin feels calm, not red like it used to after cleansing, my pimples go away a lot faster, and I could swear my pores look smaller and my skin tone more even. Wonderful stuff.

If you are a cautious type and like to keep cosmetics in your hand luggage, and if you don't admire hotel shampoo, you can bring Lush's solid hair shampoo with you now that there are restrictions on liquids in airplane cabins.
This bar is spicy in scent, tingles on the scalp and leaves hair soft. It's better than those small jars of whatever in the hotel bath and smells really wonderful.
